This weekend was pretty good. I went to New York City to help shoot (videotape) Jeff Stark's mobile play IRT. The plot of the play is centered around the conception and construction of the first subway line in NYC by the IRT - Interborough Rapid Transit Company. Though the plot structure of the play is fairly simple and straight, the logistics of performing a multi-scente play in many traincars and stations with a moving audience of approximate 30 people was a feat to say the least. I was highly impressed (and super tired after shooting!).

I want to post some links... first an addendum to the last post...
As the protests in Athens continue , part of The New School in NYC is being occupied by student protestors.
Meanwhile... The writer of this blog is in Buenos Aires; visiting friends, collecting photographs, making some print-art, and generally escaping the northeastern winter. Here is an ongoing archive of photographs from the trip .
And then a brief reflection...
I am sitting here by the woodstove, catching myself up on some of the news around the world and thinking, and just feel the need to, ya know... post a blog, i guess. On Black Friday aka Buy-Nothing Day, we saw the death of a temporary Wal-Mart employee trampled by crazed shoppers. Then a week later, a factory is occupied by workers in Chicago who refuse to leave until they are paid what they are owed by the company after Bank of America corporation cut off the company's line of credit. Then on Saturday a 16 year-old anarchist boy is shot dead by police in Greece sparking riots in the streets of athens, global outrage and solidarity events across Europe.
i found this on facebook. wonderful

It's great to see Whirl-Mart carrying on as an active ritual - even if primarily for one day a year...
