Both yesterday and today i received handmade articles from wonderful friends in diferent parts of the world. The parts of the world are Cambodia and Argentina; the friends are my dear ex-housemate, bandmate, studiomate, kitchenmate, etc., Eliza Jane Curtis and Anne Elizabeth Moore, the famous-in-some-circles (that seems to be a term i use often) writer and zinester and ex-editor of Punk Planet (admitted namedrop, there). Here's the wonderful things they sent me.
This is a hand printed letter from EJC talking about haw f&^%ng hot it is in Argetina and how excited she is to come and put her creative energy into our house in Troy. That makes me happy. I love Eiiza. check out her blog from BA here
These are zines made by female students of AEM's in Cambodia. I don't know much about the context of their creation, but I know you can read more here. .... and chances are if you have made it this far, you just might click and read her blog. I highly encourage that route of exploration at this particular moment in your life. heres pics of the zines!!!
Ok ok. i know a little of the context. Anne was here in Troy, a few months ago, promoting and speaking about her new book Unmarketable. Soon after her departure from our couch, she was headed of the Cambodia to work with and live in girls dormitories at a university. The adventure sounded amazing at the time... and having sent an hour reading over her 100+ blog entries from the past few months, it was more than that. some day I will do something as awesome as that.
While I have your attention, I will contextualize a couple other little pics of in a similar vein. A great collage monster made by a 3rd grade animation student last year sometime. I found this while sorting through materialss.s... and well... i just dont throw stuff away as a general rule. no exception here... this one even gets a frame.

Then there is this hastily made collage thrown together by yrs truly, in the same fit of organization... which happens too rarely. for whatever reason, i like this one.
