Painting & Trim

*THIS SECTION IS IN-PROGRESS*
as with the rest of the house we entered the stage of painting the walls without a plan and without a budget. but weve been able to pull it off somehow so far, so ... why not now.
Much of the paint we are using is "oops paint" whcih you can look for at most paint stores... they are also called 'mistints'. its like mess-up paint, and usually its about $5 a can. you cant pick your color, but, thats part of the fun.

we went with a "bone white" for the white on the walls and ceilings. its got a tan tint to it. we like. and Grossman's bargain outlet came through at $12 a gallon.

Then there is the matter of putting up trim. our good friend and neighbor, Jack, said he had a bunch of old oak trim he had salvaged severa years ago from Russell Sage, a local college. when we checked it out, we knew we had to use it somehow. it is varnished and scratched somewhat, but gives the place an old feel. we just washed it with murphys oil soap & water and a rag (actually, a sock), and went for it. heres some of what it looks like (*MORE TO COME*)

still figuring out what to do about trim around windows and doors......
