Cop Attacks Cyclist - Story Goes 'Viral'

hi friends & readers,
a "still we ride" update/post for the stumblers upon this here blog..... there are several interesting links to video in this post... check em out.

Teams of video activists are winning a media battle today in NYC that has gone international via the internet... big props to the Times-Up Video Collective, Glassbead, and I-witness.

If you are part of an online cycling community, you have likely heard about the recent story of an anonymous youtuber catching a rookie cop bodyslamming a Critical Mass cyclist last friday in NYC. of course, many of us know that this is nothing new, but for some reason, this story went 'viral' attracting more than 1 MILLION views on youtube in a couple days! as a result Critical Mass is actually getting a bit of positive press for once and news stations have let some great soundbites in favor of group biking and critical of the NYPD (finally!!) out onto the airwaves. great work everyone who has been part of this particular videoactivism pushback.

heres a somewhat random assemblage of emails and links that have been coming my way:

From Bill at X-Up:
Last couple of days alot of Time's Up volunteers have been working
around the clock on press and outreach issues concerning events that
took place at last Friday's Critical Mass. A videotape that Time's Up
helped procure quickly became the most viewed video on Youtube and has
been stirring up alot of press. Alot of the press has been positive and
most likely the charges against Christopher will be dropped. However, we still have a long way to go and the road might get rocky. But we have
the truth on our side and we are all working together so well. Its awesome!

Here's some press, there's so much more out there:
