Ariel Dorfman & Nick Morgan

There's not much of a connection between Nick Morgan and Ariel Dorfman, I suppose. The connection here is that I saw the film, A Promise to the Dead - a bio pic of sorts - about The 1973 coup in Chile and Ariel Dorfman, specifically at the Sanctuary for Independent Media. I learned a lot from this film. Its as if the recent history of Latin America does not exist in US public schools... then again, its hard to think of one thing i actually learned in high school. After seeing the film, I think it's one of the most important political eras and/or progressions to understand and think about with respect to protofascism and the real threat of a police state in this country.   Anyways. the connection.....

Spring is in the air... and so is the anti-war sentiment.

 

WE WILL NOT BE SILENTI can feel it as I am riding through the crowds of cars and masses of people. Spring is arriving. There is a buzz like an awakening hive. As the anniversary of the invasion approaches, you can also feel the necessity in the air to STOP THIS SENSELESS WAR.
